Poetry is confession- this is what I felt the first time I truly read a poem at seventeen, letting the words sink in. While stories transport us somewhere, let us shed who we are and be who we want to be, poetry reflects what we keep within. It’s how we tell what we wish we could take to the grave, it’s how we set ourselves free.
The poems in this book echo what we all feel, what we all see but never quite manage to string together because we are so blinded by our own heartache. Thank you @nusratazizmim for letting me know that even if we truly are alone in this world, it is a feeling that runs like roots and anchor us all together.
